Lodge

The unique guest lodge sited between the ruins of a Tswana Iron Age settlement consists of seven thatch-roof huts neatly tucked away amongst the green hues of lush natural trees.  These huts surround a traditional central stonewalled kraal, and stones from the ancient iron-smelting site were used to build the kraal.  Ancient artifacts found in the region that date back to some 200 to 450 years ago are also to be seen, as well as some remains of a Tswana Iron Age community.

Thaba Kgatla offers you the opportunity to experience an unforgettable stay in an ancient and historical environment combined with the luxury of an upmarket lodge.  Each en-suite guest unit is tastefully furnished and beautifully decorated with stained glass windows, each of which has a unique theme.

There are two hiking trails where nature lovers can stroll past 68 indigenous tree species and view an abundance of bird life, including eagles nesting high up against the rocky ridges.

Relax with family and friends next to a big campfire in the boma while experiencing breathtaking sunsets and being spoiled with thirst-quenching sundowners or revive body and mind by cooling down in the sparkling swimming pool.

Blending with nature, the rondavels are a pleasant surprise when first seen and promise an unforgettable stay. The interior or the rondavels welcome you with its comforting warm motives and earthy colours.

The honeymoon-suite is exclusively for newly weds to spend some quality time in the heart of the bushveld, and still be surrounded by luxury and comfort.
